The Memorial Garden Giving Fund

Those we love most are always in our hearts no matter how near or far. We recognize how important remembrance of loved ones is to our community. The Memorial Garden Giving Fund gives individuals an opportunity to give in memory of a loved one and to gain a deeper understanding of how their funding impacts a key strategic priority project at the MGFA.

Each year, the Memorial Garden Giving Fund will feature a different key strategic priority project to be announced in August. Throughout the following 12-month period, donors will receive 2-3 updates on the progress of the project and how it directly impacts the lives of MG patients.

This giving opportunity allows donors who choose to honor someone they love to have direct insight into the organization’s most critical work and to be engaged in a meaningful way with how that project directly impacts the lives of MG patients.

By making a gift to this fund, donors will also have their loved one’s name listed in The Gail Duckworth Memorial Garden in the MGFA Online Community.

Memorial Garden Giving Fund Key Strategic Priority Project: August 2023 – August 2024

This year’s key strategic priority project is the MGFA Global MG Patient Registry. The Registry is critical to the advancement of research and is a key focus area of the MGFA Research Agenda. As we work towards launching a new three-year strategic plan in 2024, the MGFA Global MG Patient Registry will continue to be an integral component of our roadmap forward.

The MGFA Global MG Patient Registry enables patients to securely enter their health and symptom data directly into the platform. By allowing patients to track their data on a day-to-day basis, the Registry is a more comprehensive way to understand the challenges that MG patients face rather than relying solely on medical examinations.

Our partner, Alira Health, works together with us to compile this data in a meaningful way to help inform care, drive new research studies, and design new clinical trials.

A Special Thank You to the family of Gail Duckworth for making a significant investment in our research initiatives to help us work towards a world without MG. Gail was an incredible, caring wife, mother, grandparent, and friend who always put others before herself. The Myasthenia Gravis Foundation is grateful to her family for making a significant impact in MG research in memory of her.
