What gives you hope? against a blue sky
Living with MG Stories

What gives you hope?

What gives you hope?

Earlier this year, we asked our followers this question on Facebook and Instagram. Between symptoms that keep you from the things you love, struggles to find the right treatment, and very real fears like, “Will I survive this?,” MG can create an emotional weight that is hard to bear.

We wanted to hear what keeps the MG Community going, despite the hardships of the disease.

Here are just a few of the responses that we received. You can read many more on the MGFA’s Facebook post.

The possibility of remission and new available treatments. It may be basic, but knowing that there’s even a chance I can live almost completely symptom free gives me the hope and drive to keep going, and seeing the new developments for MG treatments makes me happy knowing this disorder is not going unnoticed.

My parents, my brother. They deserve to have me by their side, as they’ve always done with me. And the hope that something beautiful is held for me in this life.

My faith. Through the difficulties that MG brings, my faith has been my anchor and helps me get by. It helps shift my mindset when things get bleak.

I’ve had my 45 years. Lots of bad years, bad days. Bad doctors. But what has kept me going is good doctors who listen. The MDA who helped with costs and finding good doctors. Living my life in spite of setbacks.
