Dr. Chrisman will speak on New Treatments for MG Patients


Christina Chrisman, MD

 

Dr. Christina Chrisman is a fellowship-trained, board certified neurologist and neuromuscular specialist. She currently serves as medical director of Neuromuscular Medicine and EMG at Banner University Medical Center-Phoenix and is an Associate Professor of Neurology with the University of Arizona College of Medicine (UACOM-P). Dr. Chrisman completed a fellowship in neuromuscular medicine at UCLA and Cedars-Sinai Medical Centers in Los Angeles, CA and completed a residency in neurology at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, AZ. She is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. Prior to her medical training, she graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, the #1 ranked undergraduate college of engineering in the United States. Dr. Chrisman has presented at national conferences and has various publications in nationally recognized neurology and neuromuscular medicine journals. Dr. Chrisman’s outpatient practice focuses on patients with neuromuscular disorders of all varieties with myasthenia gravis being a special interest. She enjoys teaching residents and students, serving as Neuroscience course director for first year medical students at University of Arizona.  She is proficient in English and Spanish. She enjoys hiking and yoga in her spare time.

 

Maira Perez will speak on Exercising with Myasthenia Gravis


Maira Perez, BS

Maira is an exercise physiologist who works closely with the multidisciplinary teams at each of the wellness clinics at HonorHealth Neurology. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Wellness from Arizona State University. She was a personal trainer for adults with disabilities during her undergrad. In addition, she has a comprehensive knowledge in massage therapy and creating home exercise programs in a rehabilitation care setting. Her passion for wellness began as a therapeutic massage therapist, where she acquired the knowledge for enhancing wellness into people’s lives.
